Connect Mentionable to Looker Studio: AI visibility reports
Put your Mentionable AI visibility data in Looker Studio with the native connector: mention rate, citation rate, average position, sentiment and share of voice, per day, AI engine and prompt category. Setup, data sets and client reports.

The Mentionable connector puts your AI visibility data into Looker Studio: build your own dashboards, combine them with your other sources and share them with your team or your clients.
What do I need?
- A Mentionable workspace on the Pro or Agency plan.
- An API key, created in Settings → MCP → API keys. A key restricted to some projects only shows those projects.
- A Google account to sign in to Looker Studio.
How do I connect Looker Studio?
- In Mentionable, open Settings → MCP, create an API key and copy it (it starts with
mnt_sk_). - Click Open the connector in the Looker Studio block of the same page.
- Authorize the connector with your Google account. Until Google completes its review, a warning is shown: click Advanced, then continue to Mentionable.
- Paste your API key.
- Pick a project and a data set, then click Connect.
- Click Create report.
The project is locked in the data source: a report viewer cannot switch to another project.
Which data sets are available?
| Data set | One row per | Main fields |
|---|---|---|
| Daily metrics | day × AI engine × prompt category | Answers, mentions, citations, mention rate, citation rate, average position, positive and negative sentiment |
| Competitors | day × AI engine × brand | Brand, is my brand, mentions, average position |
| Results | AI answer | Date, AI engine, prompt, prompt category, mentioned, position, sentiment, competitors in the answer |
The definitions are the same as in your Mentionable dashboard: active prompts, engines tracked by the project, and a citation counts when an answer links to your website.
Rates and the average position are computed by Looker Studio from the counters (for example mentions divided by answers). They stay correct whatever you group by: day, month, engine or category.
Which charts should I start with?
- Scorecards: mention rate, citation rate, average position, positive sentiment, with the date range control at the top of the report.
- Time series: date as the dimension, mention rate as the metric, AI engine as the breakdown.
- Table: AI engine with answers, mention rate and average position.
- Share of voice: add the Competitors data set, use a pie chart with Brand and Mentions, then set the metric's comparison calculation to Percent of total.
How do I share reports with clients?
Create one report per client, each on a data source locked to that client's project:
- Build a report for a first client.
- For the next client, make a copy of the report (⋮ → Make a copy) and create a new Mentionable data source for each original one, with the client's project.
- Share the report with the client as a viewer. In the sharing settings, you can disable downloading, printing and copying for viewers.
The report runs with the data credentials of its owner. Your client does not need a Mentionable account or an API key, and only sees the project of their report.
You can also add other sources to a report (Google Analytics, Search Console, Google Sheets) with Add data, and blend them with Mentionable data on the date.
What are the limits?
- A report can request up to 366 days at once. Pick a shorter date range if Looker Studio shows an error.
- The Results data set returns up to 50,000 answers per chart. Use Daily metrics for long periods.
- Calls share the limit of your API key: 100 requests per minute. Looker Studio caches data (12 hours by default, configurable in the data source), so regular use stays far below.
Common errors
| Message | What to do |
|---|---|
| Invalid credentials when pasting the key | Check that the key is active in Settings → MCP and copied in full |
| API access requires an active Pro or Agency subscription | Upgrade the workspace from Settings → Billing |
| Project not found | The key no longer has access to the project, or the project was deleted: edit the data source and pick another project |
| Date range is limited to 366 days | Shorten the report's date range |
For scripts and other BI tools, the same data is available through the REST API.
