Key Takeaways

  • The Mentionable AI assistant is built into the dashboard. You ask a question in plain words, it reads your project's data and answers with your real numbers.
  • It reads visibility, tracked prompts, results per AI engine, competitors and share of voice, cited sources, fan-out queries, Reddit threads, backlink opportunities and page audits.
  • Answers point to the page where you act, so a new user goes from a question to the right screen without learning the whole product first.
  • The assistant only reads. It does not change your projects, does not write articles and never uses credits.
  • Included on Growth, Pro and Agency, during the free trial too. On an Agency white-label workspace, it speaks under the agency's brand name.

AI Assistant

You open your dashboard. Your visibility dropped two points, a competitor you never heard of now shows up on ChatGPT, and there are six pages of data between you and an explanation. You click the assistant and type: "Why is this competitor cited more than me?". A few seconds later you have the answer, with your own numbers, and a link to the page that shows it.

The Mentionable AI assistant turns the data you already track into answers. It reads your project, explains what matters and sends you where you can act.

What does the Mentionable AI assistant do?

The Mentionable AI assistant answers questions about your AI visibility, from inside the dashboard. It does three things: it reads your project's data, it explains what that data means for your visibility in AI answers, and it points you to the page where you can do something about it.

It opens from a button in the corner of every project page and of the workspace home, or with ⌘J (Ctrl+J on Windows). On a large screen it sits in a column next to the page, so you can click a link in an answer and keep the conversation open while the page changes. On a phone it opens full screen.

While it works, the assistant shows which data it is reading: competitors, sources, prompts. You see that the answer comes from your tracking, not from a guess. Conversations are saved, grouped by date, and you can reopen any of them later from any project.

Which data can the assistant read?

The assistant reads the same data you see in the Mentionable dashboard, for the project you have open:

  • Visibility: your visibility score, its trend, the rate per AI engine, and what changed since the last scan.
  • Prompts: every tracked prompt, how often each AI engine cites you on it, and the prompts where no engine mentions you.
  • Results per engine: for one prompt, what ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, Copilot, Claude, Google AI Mode and Google AI Overview answered, with your position and the competitors they named.
  • Competitors: the ranking, your share of voice, and for one competitor the prompts they win and the sources that cite them.
  • Sources: the domains AI engines cite on your prompts, including the ones that cite your competitors and never you.
  • Fan-out queries: the searches AI engines run before answering, and how often each one comes back.
  • Opportunities: the Reddit threads and backlink opportunities worth your attention.
  • Page audits: what your last audits found and the quick wins they suggested.

It also knows what each page of the app is for, and general GEO best practices. From the workspace home, it can compare your projects. The assistant only ever sees the projects your account has access to.

How does it help when you are just getting started?

A new Mentionable user lands on a dashboard full of prompts, engines, sources and competitors, and does not know which question to ask first. The assistant removes that blank page.

Each dashboard page offers three suggested questions, in one click. On the dashboard: "How has my visibility changed this month?" or "I'm just getting started: where do I begin?". On Sources: "Which sites cite my competitors but never me?". On Competitors: "On which prompts do I lose to my competitors?".

The assistant answers with your numbers and links to the page that shows them. You learn the product by asking about your own brand, instead of reading a guide. It answers in the language you write in.

What does the assistant not do?

The assistant focuses on your data and on the product. It sends everything else to the right tool.

It does not write articles or pages. When you ask for one, it points you to New pages, which writes the missing page for a prompt from the sources AI engines already cite on it.

It does not change anything. The assistant reads, it never edits projects, prompts, competitors or settings, and it never launches a scan or an audit. That is also why it never uses credits.

It does not answer questions unrelated to your AI visibility. General knowledge, maths, code or translation get a short reply and a suggestion to ask about your data instead.

Which plans include the AI assistant?

The AI assistant is included on every Mentionable plan: Growth at €79/month, Pro at €149/month and Agency at €299/month. It is available from the first day of the 7-day free trial.

Every member of your workspace can use it: owners, admins and team members. Client accounts with read-only access, the ones agencies create so a client can follow their results, do not see the assistant.

On an Agency white-label workspace, the assistant speaks under the agency's brand name, not Mentionable's.

AI assistant or MCP server: which one fits your workflow?

Both give an AI access to your Mentionable data. They are built for different moments.

The AI assistant lives in the dashboard. No setup, no API key, available on every plan. Use it when you are already in Mentionable and want to understand a number, find the right page, or decide where to start.

The MCP server connects Mentionable to the AI you already use, such as Claude, Cursor or ChatGPT, on the Pro and Agency plans. Use it when you want your own agent to pull Mentionable data into a brief, a client report or an automation, next to the rest of your stack.

Many teams use both: the assistant to read the data day to day, MCP to plug it into their own workflows.
